The Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 are Samsung's flagship smartphones from 2016. In the last quarter of 2016, the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Note 5 were found being tested with the latest Android version. These devices are expected to get Android N by the end of Q1 or after the April launch of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

The Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) were launched earlier this year with Marshmallow OS onboard. These devices were heavily pegged to launch with Nougat OS. Hence, the 2017 editions of Galaxy A smartphones are expected to receive Android N soon.

In December 2016, rumors started spreading that Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016) would be upgraded to Android N. However, Samsung was unlikely to get them updated to Android N before the release on their 2017 versions. These devices are likely to receive Nougat update after it arrives to Galaxy A (2017) smartphones.

The Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) are also rumored to get Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, the other devices belonging to the Galaxy J (2016) are unlikely to get updated to Android N, Sam Mobile reported.

Samsung's tablets are also expected to get Android N update. Apart from Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and Tab A2, none of other tablets are speculated to receive the Android N upgrade.

The upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be the first Samsung smartphones to come pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat update.
