The side-scrolling action platform game "Shovel Knight" from indie developer Yacht Club Games has been doing pretty good in the gaming arena after it went out in 2014. Such performance has sprouted numerous game segments in which another new expansion is set to be released in the coming months.

Dubbed as "Specter of Torment," the new downloadable is set to go online this April. However, Yacht Club has yet to confirm a definite release date for the new content. Alongside its release will be the long-awaited feature known as the "Body Swap Mode" where players can switch the warrior classes' body attributes, according to PlayStation's blog site.

A two-player co-op game mode is also being prepped up and will be available to both PlayStation 3 and 4 ports. A good thing about this upcoming co-op campaign is that it will also coincide with the DLC's release free of charge. Minor updates will also be included like the Sound Test Mode where fans can check out all the tracks used on each level.

Another content to look out for is the Treasure Trove, which is a compilation of past and upcoming contents of the 8-bit-looking title. Moreover, fans who wish to purchase a specific content of the title may do so without buying the original title, Dual Shockers reported.

Aside from the upcoming "Specter of Torment," both "King Knight's Campaign" and "Battle Mode" expansions are also line up to be released this year. Nothing much was hinted with the former, though the latter is said to allow players to go on a 4-player skirmish with an option to play as their preferred combatant.

Earlier, it was announced that the acclaimed title will also set foot on the newly released Switch console and will tag along with its soon to be released content. For would-be players who want to join in the hype, the Treasure Trove will be offered at $25 while standalone contents cost $10 apiece.
