The Games with Gold program continues to give away free games on game enthusiasts with the recent game releases in Xbox One console. The additional two games offered for free are the "Killer Instinct Season 2" and "Rayman Origins."
Gamers who have Gold membership on Xbox Live will now have the opportunity to purchase the "Killer Instinct" Season 2 and "Rayman Origins" franchises free of charge. However, the said games would only be available for a limited time.
Starting in January 16, "Killer Instinct Season 2" is available for the Xbox One, which will run until Feb. 15. The game adds three new game modes, namely the "Ranked Leagues," "Shadow Lab" and "Combo Breaker Training."
As stated in the game's description, "Unlock new combatants, more stages and Killer Instinct 2 Classic, the port of the iconic arcade fighting game, with Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra. This legendary fighting franchise is a must-own for fighting game fans, with unique characters, fluid gameplay, and an open-ended combo system. Battle friends and challenging AI at home, or unleash your skills online against players around the world and in monthly ranked leagues."
To specify, the "Ranked Leagues" mode allows "Killer Instinct" Season 2 players to track their online progress from time to time. In the "Shadow Lab" option, gamers can train a Shadow AI, while the "Combo Breaker Training" game mode suggests a training ground for characters' combo break.
On the other hand, the "Rayman Origins" game will be set free of charge until Jan. 31 only. According to CPost, the game follows the journey of protagonist Rayman and other cast of playable friends in defeating Darktoons to rescue the Teensies and save the Glade of Dreams. Gamers can explore up to 60 levels ranging from high-definition platforming to musical ensembles to epic boss fights.
According to Daily Star, new backwards compatible releases in 2017 released alongside the two mentioned games are "Dragon Age Origins," "Battlefield: Bad Company 2," "Battlefield 3" and "Strania." "The Splatters," "Scrap Metal," "Ghostbusters," "Mega Man 9," "Mega Man 10" and "Beat'n Groovy." In 2016, the Backward Compatibility library included games like "Red Dead Redemption" and "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," and the trilogies of "Bioshock" and "Mass Effect."
