AMD Ryzen and Intel Kaby Lake specs, price and release date are expected to clash in the market, especially with their low-end processors. The SR 5 and SR 3 will challenge Intel's Core i5 and Core i3 variants in terms of value and performance.

In the past months, Ryzen has been reported to be a serious threat over Intel's dominance. With regards to its price, most experts believe that Ryzen's quad core versions will give Intel a little maneuvering room upon its release. The said device, which has been speculated to be within a $150 price point is expected to clash with Intel's quad core counterparts.

Intel Core i5, Core i3 Kaby Lake specs and prices has been released online. Consumers wanting to upgrade for a Kaby Lake quad core processors, an estimate of $150 to $300 price range should be expected. Core i3-7100  with 3.9 GHz base frequency is the lowest version of the quad core line-ups, while Core i5-7600K with 4.2GHz clock speed is the highest entry, according to PC Advisor.

In terms of performance, the quad core line-up of Intel has been tested and proven over the past years. However, Ryzen's SR 5 and SR 3 segments have not yet fully shown its performance, for most demonstrations of AMD processors are focused on their eight core device.

Despite the lack of detailed information, some reports online still managed to make some point of comparison for the two devices. In terms of threading, Intel's quad core processors support Hyper-Threading, allowing each discrete CPU core to process two threads concurrently, according to PC GamesN.

On the other hand, the same website also reported that Ryzen quad cores will also support Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), a technology comparable to Intel's Hyper-Threading. While there is no confirmation yet whether all quad core versions will support Multi-Threading for AMD, Intel's quad-core Hyper-Threading support has been confirmed to be selected among its processors. Thus, allowing consumers to find more options for AMD's product.

With regards to their release date, Intel Kaby Lake has been on sale online, while AMD is set for release in February.  After the anticipated launch date of Ryzen CPUs next month, the inevitable clash between AMD and Intel will commence.
