Brazilian MMA fighter Guilherme "Bomba" Vasconcelos has been making headlines outside the ring recently for reportedly dating pop sensation Demi Lovato. However, both he and Lovato want his achievements in the ring to match up as well despite recent subpar performances. Because of this, Lovato was spotted attending Vasconcelos latest bout at Bellator 170.

Vasconcelos had a brief stint with the UFC, fighting at UFC 175 back in July 2014. He went up against Luke Zachrich, and was coached by Bellator 170 headliner and UFC veteran Chael Sonnen. Vasconcelos unfortunately lost to Zachrich, but he says that it has made him a better fighter overall.

"What's passed is past. They're all learning experiences [and] that's how we should look at them," Vasconcelos told MMA Junkie in the buildup to his latest Bellator appearance. He added that he believes that it was not yet the right time for him to be in the UFC and that for now he will focus more on improving his craft.

Following his UFC loss, Vasconcelos returned to fight in his native Brazil where he was able to pick up four wins on the bounce. However, Marcio Santos then dealt him a loss via a close fought split decision.

Lovato was wearing a "Team Bomba" shirt and was visibly nervous during his rumored beau's contest, E! News reported. It was Vasconcelos' twelfth professional MMA fight and only his second in the Bellator promotion. He took on John Mercurio who, coming into the fight, had an 8-7 record in professional mixed martial arts.

Bellator called up Vasconcelos back in 2016 and he has since never looked back. He put in an impressive performance back at Bellator 157, submitting Jordan Dowdy with one second left in the very first round. He looked to showcase a performance as impressive as that in his fight against Mercurio, who has never put together more than two straight wins.

Vasconcelos controlled the majority of his fight against Mercurio and picked up a well-deserved win. Afterwards, Vasconcelos went back ringside to his friends and family, but not without first hugging and kissing Lovato on the cheek.
