Real Madrid lost for the first time this season two rounds ago with a 1-2 defeat at the hands of second-running team Sevilla. The team was able to bounce back from that performance with a 2-1 victory over lowly squad Malaga last Saturday also at their home field of Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, as per The Guardian.

Team captain Sergio Ramos unleashed a brace in the 35th and 43rd minutes to give Los Blancos a 2-0 lead at the half which they never relinquished.

Malaga scored a consolation goal in the 63rd minute with a strike by Venezuelan midfielder Juanpi off a rebound play after Keylor Navas blocked the shot of Juan Carlos following a counter-attack.

Real Madrid is still on top of the league table at the moment, one point ahead of Sevilla and two points ahead of arch-rivals and defending champions Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad is on a two-game winning run. The team has won four of its last six matches to settle in the fifth spot in the overall standings, tied on points with fourth-place team Atletico Madrid but has a lesser goal differential.

Sociedad is coming off a tough 1-0 victory over middling squad Celta Vigo at their home ground of Anoeta Stadium last Sunday, ESPN reported.

After a goalless first half of action, Spanish winger Juanmi provided the winning goal for head coach Eusebio Sacristán's side in the 72nd minute with a close-range header to the bottom right corner of Sergio Alvarez's net. The assist came from Sergio Canales following a corner kick.
