Manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that star player Dmitri Payet is currently unhappy and does not want to play for West Ham United. All signs are now pointing to Payet making a sensational return to his native France, with Marseille, for a whopping £30 million ($37.64 million).
While Payet will surely be missed at the Olympic Stadium, the Hammers will reportedly use nearly half of what they would get from the transfer to complete a move for Bretford's Scott Hogan, according to The Guardian. The earnings from the French free kick specialist's transfer will also be used to shore up the team's defense with Fenerbahce's Ali Kaldirim and Arsenal's Mathieu Debuchy touted as potential targets.
Defeat against a lower half of the table Hull City team may have also forced Jose Mourinho's hand into the transfer market. He has been looking to sign a new forward for Manchester United for quite some time now, and is hopeful that Antoine Griezmann's relationship with Paul Pogba could persuade the former to make the move to the Red Devils. The sale of fullback Matteo Darmian would also help make this move happen.
Despite being highly effective at left back, James Milner may soon return to his original central midfield position, with Jurgen Klopp keen on signing Riza Durmisi from Real Betis. Spartak Moscow wide man Quincy Promes is also being earmarked for an Anfield move to join up with countryman Georginio Wijnaldum, and has confirmed that he knows about the interest.
"I never thought about other clubs. Never. Some things were said, but I do not know about that," Promes told Russian publication Sport Express, as cited by Metro. He added that he currently only wants to concentrate on playing his football where he is under contract.
Middlesbrough are keen on Aston Villa's Jack Grealish to join their ranks. This comes after the news that they have lost out on now-West Ham player Robert Snodgrass and that one of his stars Gaston Ramirez wants out. Bordeaux's Diego Contento and Queens Park Rangers' Nedum Onuoha could join Sunderland, while Newcastle United's Gabriel Obertan is likely to move to Crystal Palace.
