Production on "Game of Thrones" Season 7 has been underway after a few weeks delay. No official premiere date has yet been announced but the series is now expected to premiere by June 18 or June 25 based on the schedule of another HBO show, "The Leftovers."

"The Leftovers" has been confirmed to premiere this April 16, Business Insider reported. This will be the third and last season for the show and it will run for eight episodes. It is stated that HBO is expected to take one week off before airing the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere.

A similar circumstance happened in 2016. "Game of Thrones" had been pushed back to late April to give way to the now-cancelled series, "Vinyl."

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 would then premiere by June 18 if this schedule is followed. However, the IMDB page for the premiere was initially listed for June 25, Games Radar reported. This date is also still debatable given how anyone can log in, rate shows and alter information on IMDB.

Both the June 18 and June 25 date are both within the release window announced by the producers last year. HBO has yet to comment on the validity of either date and as such the release should still be taken with a grain of salt.

Season 7 is going to have fewer episodes, with only eight episodes instead of 10. The show had been delayed due to the production being moved in order to film in the winter. Due to the delay the premiere had been pushed back from Spring to the Summer.

This will be followed by Season 8 in 2018, which will have seven episodes, and will conclude the series. No official schedule has yet been announced for the final season of the show.
