The Sherlocks are set to return and introduce a new member in the upcoming episode of "NCIS" Season 14. The synopsis for episode 14 reveals that the NCIS will work once again with crime-fighting team in the investigation of a murder case involving a petty officer.
Titled "Nonstop," the episode will follow the Sherlocks, a privately-funded investigative team that was first introduced in Season 13, as they return to help the NCIS in tracking down the culprit behind the mysterious death of an officer. The synopsis on Cartermatt reads, "The murder of a petty officer in a small town outside D.C. prompts NCIS to once again work with 'The Sherlocks,' a privately funded investigative team that includes their newest member, Anthony DiNozzo, Sr."
The Sherlocks first appeared in the episode titled "16 Years," when they helped Gibbs and the gang delve into a murder case involving a retired lieutenant, who happened to be a member of the Sherlocks. It was revealed later on that Ducky was actually a member of the secret society as well.
Based on the synopsis for the upcoming episode, the Sherlocks will be back with a new member. Since they teamed up with Gibbs and his crew, the secret society has had on board several new members. In the upcoming episode, Anthony DiNozzo, Sr., played by Robert Wagner, will be the newcomer.
In a previous interview with FOX News, "NCIS" executive producer Gary Glasberg said the Sherlocks would be made up of characters who are passionate about solving cold cases. According to him, the Sherlocks is a secret society, a small group of marginally peculiar civilians who love to get together in the wee small hours and take on cases that others have forgotten about.
DiNozzo was last featured in the series when he talked to Abby, Bishop and McGee about renting out the posh apartment of Tony. It can be recalled that the older DiNozzo previously thought that the group would like to sublet the place since Tony and his daughter had extended their vacation in Paris and would not be back anytime soon.
