West Ham is on a two-game winning run after losing their previous two fixtures. The team is settled in the 10th spot of the 20-team English top flight table at the moment, tied on points with Stoke City but has a lesser goal differential.

The Hammers are coming off an impressive 3-1 victory over lowly squad Middlesbrough on the road at the Riverside Stadium on Jan. 21, as per BBC Sport.

Andy Carroll was the man of the match for head coach Slaven Bilić's side as he netted a brace to lead West Ham to the two-goal win.

Carroll opened the scoring with a six-yard header in the ninth minute before Boro forward Cristhian Stuani knotted the count in the 27th with a side-footed shot following a lovely passing play by Alvaro Negredo, Adama Traore, and Calum Chambers.

However, Carroll scored his second goal of the game two minutes before halftime to give the visitors the lead at the break.

Argentine forward Jonathan Calleri then sealed the win in the second half with an injury time goal.

Meanwhile, Manchester City has been struggling right now with three winless performances in their last four games. As a result, the team has dropped to the fifth spot in the overall standings, two points behind fourth-running team Liverpool and the final Champions League qualifying berth for next season.

City was held to a 2-2 draw by fellow contending side Tottenham Hotspur on their own home ground of Etihad Stadium also on Jan. 21, Daily Mail Online reported.

After a goalless first half of action, head coach Pep Guardiola's side finally broke the deadlock with two goals in a span of five minutes, courtesy of Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne in the 49th and 54th respectively, following successive defensive lapses by Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham was able to fight back, though, and leveled the count with two goals of their own. Dele Alli and Son Heung-min buried one goal each in the 58th and 77th minutes to salvage the draw.
