The much-delayed book "Winds of Winter" may finally release in October. It may be released along with "Book of Swords," which is based on tales of sorcery and swords.

The "Book of Swords" is a collection of 15 original stories, which have been penned by numerous authors, including George R. R. Martin. This story is not a sample chapter of "Winds of Winter" but an original story, which is set in Westeros, according to Watchers on the Wall.

Hence, it is expected that when "Book of Swords" will release in October then it could be launched along side "Winds of Winter." In a candid post on his journal, Not a Blog, Martin had revealed that 'dozens' of chapters of "Winds of Winter" are ready. On top of that, he has already released 11 sample chapters from "Winds of Winter" so it is quite a possibility that the book may be nearing the finishing line and be ready for publication in October.

With regard to the marketing aspect, "Book of Swords" may have a good run if it is released alongside "Winds of Winter." Also, if Martin finishes the much-delayed book, he will be ready to promote both the books.

"Winds of Winter" spoilers indicate that the book is likely to feature the deaths of a lot of prominent and key characters. It may also show that the Mother of Dragons may become mad and even set fire to the city of Westeros.

"Winds of Winter" will be the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. The first book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series was "A Game of Thrones," which was released in 1996. It was followed by "A Clash of Kings" two years later.

The third book of the series was released in 2000 and it was titled as "A Storm of Swords," which was followed by "A Feast for Crows" in 2005. The last released book in this series is "A Dance with Dragons," which was published in 2011. In the past six years, readers have been waiting patiently for "Winds of Winter" to release.
