The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature a new character this week and possibly new game details at the CEO 2017.

NetherRealm Studios teased a new playable character for "Injustice 2" this week as the game's official website teased that the new DC hero/villain will be revealed sometime within Feb. 2. The game studio previously revealed Damien Wayne/Robin in "Injustice 2's" roster alongside a new gameplay trailer.

"Injustice 2" so far consist of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Blue Beetle, Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Robin and Darkseid, while villains Braniac, Poison Ivy and Bane are also coming to the roster soon the game's recent cinematic trailer.

Several DC characters are rumored to be part of "Injustice 2" such as Captain Cold, Hawkgirl, John Constantine, Black Canary, Black Adam, Green Arrow, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Red Hood, Ra's al Gul, Firestorm, The Atom and many more.

In addition, NetherRealm Studios confirmed that "Injustice 2" will feature third party characters so the possibility of havning Sub-Zero from "Mortal Kombat" and Spawn in the sequel is now possible.

Meanwhile, "Injustice 2" will be part of this year's Community Effort Orlando or CEO fighting championship event on June 16-18 via tweet from the game's official Twitter page.

"Injustice 2" will join other fighting games such as "Tekken 7", "Street Fighter 5", "Pokken Tournament", "Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U", "BlazBlue: Centralfiction", "The King of Fighters XIV", "Killer Instinct", "Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator" and "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3".

Previous reports revealed that NetherRealm Studios producer Ed Boon teased that gamers will have a better chance of winning in a "Tournament" game mode in "Injustice 2" as the updates in the "Gear System" will not be included.

Boon stated that "Injustice 2" will have a tournament style game mode that will disable the equipment of each character making the sequel more fun and less hard for gamers who are competitive and novice. Boon also added that there will not be any gear sold as DLC, and that online play will allow players to choose opponents that either use or do not have any gear.

"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
