Team Ninja's PlayStation 4 exclusive title - "Nioh" is just a few days away from hitting the shelves, though it being raved about by quite a number of game connoisseurs. The reviews as of late are generally positive making it one of the action role-playing titles to look out for this 2017.

The game itself is quite a handful at first though players will get the hang of its battle system in no time. However, players are advised not to take things lightly with the upcoming title. The deluge of reviews and videos that are making rounds online are clear affirmations that the game will be as tricky and difficult as it can get.

Game buffs claim that it has some elements that may have been derived from the "Dark Souls" mythos in which a notable mention is when the protagonist William is "freed from his mortal coil." Players' unused XP falls to the ground when the character gets killed and players only got one shot at getting it back or it is gone for good, Kotaku reported.

Dealing with enemies requires some skill and timing. A simple battle with a human foe is quite unforgiving for beginners much more if players encounter them in groups. Being observant of the enemy's movement and the knowledge on when to strike are very much essential in beating them.

Aside from human foes, demons from the Japanese lore known as Yokais are a whole lot tougher and can easily kill the protagonist with a few good hits. Players will know that a Yokai fight looms when they come across a swirling black mist, Polygon has learned.

There is no other workaround in beating them quickly but to be very methodical when attacking and defending. Moreover, players can expect to be killed several times during a Yokai battle unless players are exceptionally well-versed with the game.

Item drops are also featured in "Nioh" every time an enemy is beaten. Moreover, item names are color coded depending on the item's rarity - a thing that is quite similar to Blizzard's "Diablo."

Melee armaments are the predominant weapon type in the game. Ranged weapons are also available which are perfect for luring enemies to the player's current position or blowing up their heads from afar. Ki or stamina is also a key factor in the game. Player's must be wise in conserving such as it gets depleted every time William attacks or dodges an enemy.

A player's stance is also something to consider in the game. A high stance will deal a great amount of damage to attacking enemies, though the defense will be compromised. Both attack and defense are balanced on a medium stance while defense and movement are heightened when a low stance is used.

Learning some of "Nioh's" basics will definitely help before it is shelled out on Feb. 7 for PlayStation 4. In the meantime, watch some additional tips on how to pull through with the game:
