New details for "Injustice 2" will feature a new DC character and beta codes this week and a possible tournament mode and tag team gameplay in the sequel.

NetherRealm Studios announced that teased another DC character coming to "Injustice 2" this week as the official website of the game pointed out that the next DC hero/villain will launch on Feb. 7. The studios recently released a gameplay trailer of Dinah Laurel Lance a.k.a. the Black Canary last week making her official debut in the DC fighting game.

Joining Black Canary are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Robin, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus.

Aside from the new character announcement, game producer Ed Boon tweeted that NetherRealm Studios are still giving out new beta codes and invites for "Injustice 2's" beta test gameplay. The previous beta codes featured Blue Beetle in the roster and this will be the third round of access codes sent out to fans of the fighting game franchise, but as Boon has said previously, not everyone will be able to get in and try "Injustice 2" out before its release date later this year.

Meanwhile, several rumors are making rounds regarding a tag team gameplay and a "Tournament Mode" in "Injustice 2".

Boon teased that "Injustice 2" will have a tournament style game mode that will disable the equipment of each DC character as several players are worried that the Gear System will be a disadvantage to gamers who are new to the game. Boon also added that there will not be any gear sold as DLC, and that online play will allow players to choose opponents that either use or do not have any gear, PlyaStationLifeStyle reported.

As for the tag team gameplay, NetherRealm Studious could likely add it and it will be played out similar to to 2009's "Mortal Kombat" reboot title which was first hinted in the "Injustice 2" FAQ , EventHubs reported. The 2v2 in "Injustice 2" could likely competed against other fighting games like "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite".

NetherRealm Studios will continue to give out more game details for "Injustice 2" possibly in the EVO 2017 and in the Community Effort Orlando or CEO 2017 event.

"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
