"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alum Emma Caulfield has been tapped to guest star in the upcoming "Walking Dead" spinoff "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 3. The walkers will not know what hit them.

According to TV Line, AMC confirmed Caulfield's casting in "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 3 but declined to reveal the length of her stint, the identity of her character, or whose storyline she would impact. Reports suggest that she will be the villainess who has been much-discussed online and who is supposed to affect Nick Clark ("In the Heart of the Sea" actor Frank Dillane) and Luciana ("Prison Break" actress Danay Garcia).

There is a chance that Caulfield could be much more than a couple of episodes in "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 3, Comic Book reported. In fact, the new episodes would feature a major female villain after Season 2 ended. Caulfield has played a villain before, so she could be breaking bad once again for this role.

"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 2 dramatically ended last October 2016 with the intense finale. Chris Manawa ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." actor Lorenzo James Henrie) was killed off after leaving his father in favor of the American boys. Ofelia Salazar ("NCIS: Los Angeles" actress Mercedes Mason) also placed her life on the line in search of her ex-boyfriend.

Caulfield is best known as a series regular Anya Jenkins in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" for three years. Her character Jenkins is a beloved vengeance demon who struggled with understanding the human condition once she was turned mortal. She also starred as Susan Keats on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and played the Blind Witch in "Once Upon a Time."

Ever since she left "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Caulfield has been busy appearing most recently in "Supergirl" to play Federal Bureau Investigation Agent Cameron Chase. She also lent her voice to the animated series "Fantasy Hospital." She will also be seen in CBS' "Training Day" episode 5.

"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 3 will air later this year. The official plot details have not been announced yet. Meanwhile, "The Walking Dead" will be back for the second half of Season 7 on Feb. 12, Sunday, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
