Nintendo recently claimed that they have finally mastered the Unreal Engine as complemented by Nvidia chip. A testament to their claim is the increasing dominance of the company in the Western frontier championed by their Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch has been sweeping the market like a storm in terms of design popularity and sales. This may be attributed to the unique Nvidia chip incorporated into the device, according to Nintendo Wire. The said chipset does not only help in supporting modern engines like Unreal, but most especially it paves the way for Nintendo's software developer to express their full potentials.

In line with this newly improved skills, Nintendo aims to bring more developers to their Switch console. Thus, more exciting and absorbing games are to be expected from the gaming company.

In the past, there has been an apparent disparity between Western developers and that of the Nintendo's developers. Even creative director Shigeru Miyamoto was cognizant of the said skill-set difference. However, with the Nvidia chipset around and the mastery of state-of-the-art technologies such as Unreal Engine, the gap between East and West may soon be bridged.

"That ease of software development has also been felt by Nintendoʼs internal developers. Also, even though game software developers in the U.S. and E.U. are often said to have superior skills to their Japanese counterparts when it comes to software development techniques, Nintendoʼs software developers have mastered state-of-the-art technologies such as Unreal Engine, and their skills can now be compared with those of Western developers," Polygon quoted Miyamoto as saying.

The said advancement of Nintendo in terms of software development and their Switch device may not simply end soon. According to managing executive officer Shinya Takahashi, their company is in close working relationship with Nvidia in building custom hardware. Thus, giving more room for Nintendo Switch to boast of its improvements with potential upcoming updates.
