Another HTC smartphone update has surfaced on the internet. This time around, the leaks speak of an HTC 11 powered by the latest Qualcomm mobile processor.

In terms of the device using the upcoming Snapdragon 835 processor, Samsung may not be the only subscriber to it. HTC has been added to the potential company to sport the upcoming Snapdragon 835.

The report of HTC using the latest Snapdragon 835 was hinged to an interview with HTC's President of Smartphone and Connected Device, Chialin Chang. The interview sketched that HTC's next flagship smartphone will be powered by the next flagship CPU.

"Every time there is a brand new CPU with power that we can leverage, we're always at the forefront doing that...When the next flagship CPU comes, HTC will be one of the very first tier doing that. When the new CPU comes, HTC will have another flagship," Chang told TBreak Media in an interview.

The next flagship smartphone anticipated by consumers and reported by leakster online is dubbed as the HTC 11. Most rumors suggest that the upcoming device will also have 6GB of RAM and launch with Android 7.0 Nougat, apart from its latest Snapdragon processor.

However, although there was a screenshot to support the leaks and claims for the upcoming HTC 11 specs, some people still considered it as a fake news. The surfacing screenshot claiming to be that of the HTC 11 has been debunked by Android Police.

Experts and members of forum sites were quick to notice the anomaly on the leak concerning the upcoming HTC 11. One of the indicators was the EMUI screenshot detailing an Android "7.12" which is supposed to be "7.1.2." Furthermore, such Android version is yet to be released until March this year, making the leak a really obvious Photoshop job.

Moreover, the said leak has already fooled a number of publications and tech sites. What made the alleged fake news more amazing was the fact that high-profile tech sites picked  up the leak without even questioning it.
