Earlier leaks on LG G6's processor may change after recent leak on an unannounced LG smartphone points to a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM, which is rumored to be the LG G6 handset.

A new LG smartphone was recently spotted on a popular benchmark application Geekbench, carrying the model number LG-H871. The listing details the operating system and the amount of RAM inside the device; however, based on the device's specs, it could be the unreleased LG G6 that will feature older SoCs.

According to WCCFTech, LG Electronics could be equipping its G6 devices with older mobile chipset, such as the Snapdragon 820, after Samsung bought the entire initial batch of the Snapdragon 835 shipments for its Galaxy S8 flagship.

If the benchmark listing holds truth, the LG G6 may be powered by the Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) SoC, which has an integrated quad-core 64-bit CPU clocked at a maximum of 2.19GHz.

Following the Geekbench result, the LG-H871 scored 1736 in a single-core test, while it marked a multi-core score of 4002 in terms of performance.

Earlier, LG officially announced the G6's display which measures 5.7-inch QHD+ display, resulting to 2,880 by 1,440-pixel resolution and 18:9 screen ratio, CNET reported. The specific ratio is branded as Full Vision, which will be coupled with an almost bezel-less design. The G6 display is also the thinnest ever from LG, measuring less than 1mm thick. It has reduced the size of the bezels by up to 20 percent on the top and 10 percent on the sides of the screen.

The company confirmed last month that the LG G6 will sport a display with an unusual aspect ratio of 2:1, which LG claimed will offer up to 10 percent more visibility outdoors, and will also use 30 percent less battery life.

Since the LG G6 rumored specs continue to leak online ahead of the MWC 2017 event, few of them points to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, Google Assistant (AI software), water-resistant design (IP68), and Google Daydream support.

LG is expected to release its G6 on Feb. 26 at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain, where several rumors on the device's processor and key specs will be confirmed.
