Nokia is said to release at least seven new handsets this 2017 and one model is already revealed and confirmed - the Nokia 6. So now the subject of rumors are the Android flagship Nokia P1 and the supposed relaunch of the Nokia N-series, and both will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors.

The N-series, according to WCCFTech, will come out within the Barcelona MWC 2017 that will start February 26. The news site pointed to reports that originated from China as source of its information.

In the same report, HMD Global is said to initially mass produce around 500,000 of Nokia N-series and the device is said to be powered by Snapdragon 600 chip series. The same SoC is found on numerous mid-range Android phones manufactured by Samsung, Oppo and Xiaomi.

No other specs have been provided so far for the N-series but if the plan for the line is to become Nokia's mid-range bet this 2017 then it will likely out-spec the Nokia 6. Out of the box, the latter boasts of Snapdragon 430 with 4GB of RAM support. So the engine combo for the Nokia N-series could be 6GB RAM that is tapped into by the SD 600 chip.

And it appears that Qualcomm's Snapdragon is the preferred source of firepower for the still to roll out Nokia handsets and the line includes the Finnish brand's rumored Android flagship bet - the Nokia P1. WCCFTech said in a separate report that the device is virtually confirmed to be powered by SD 835.

The same chip will be the driving force behind the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 so the Nokia P1 is pretty much in the same league.

But one hardware feature that likely will be exclusive to the Nokia P1 concerns the camera. Its 23-megapixel main shooter will come with Carl Zeiss' lens technology, which should serve as a cue that Nokia intends to slug it out with Apple, Samsung and Google for camera smartphone supremacy this 2017.

The same report confirmed that the Nokia P1 when it materializes is of flagship breed as it will impress with a supersized 5.7-inch screen with Super AMOLED display that will render in 1080 QHD+ resolution. There will be storage configurations - 64GB and 128GB but both can take in up to 256GB of extra memory.

No definite release date has been set for the Nokia P1, in fact Nokia is yet to confirm the existence of the handset that supposedly will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat. But it's fair to assume that the handset will certainly launch within this 2017.
