Maria Adanja, the Slovenian ambassador to China, announced that her country is seeing the Sino-EU ties and the "One Belt, One Road" initiative as significant frameworks needed to further strengthen China-Slovenia relations.
According to the ambassador, China is one of most vital trading partners of Slovenia in the Asia-Pacific region, that is why they are "most interested in the economic prospects of the country."
She cited the country's 7-percent economic growth target as an indication of the government's determination to "maintain sustainable development."
Ambassador Adanja furthermore stated that the economic growth statistic also confirms the Chinese leadership's goal of undertaking reforms that will help the country open up to foreign partnerships.
"I believe this is good for China as well as the world," she remarked.
Slovenia sees strengthened relations with China, the ambassador added, saying that it could be fostered through developing various ventures especially in the aspects of "investments, infrastructure, high technology, agriculture, tourism, and others."
The Slovenian ambassador cited the "16+1" initiative of the Sino-EU ties as another good framework in boosting her country's relations with China.
Ambassador Adanja is one of the attendees in the annual two sessions in Beijing.
"This is my sixth time to follow the NPC and the CPPCC, and that it's an excellent opportunity for me to get an overview of what was done during the last year and what the Chinese leadership plans to do for the next year," she shared.
The ambassador lauded the country's effort to address air pollution, saying that this is also a way for China to develop its partnership with foreign governments. The anti-air pollution campaign is one of the agenda in the sessions.
Ambassador Adanja also appreciated seeing more women in the delegates compared with the previous years.
