Despite grabbing several wins for Season 6, "Game of Thrones" got snubbed at Art Directors Guild 21st Excellence in Production Design Award. The ceremony was conducted at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on Feb. 11, Saturday.

The Art Directors Guild honors production design in TV, movies, commercials and music videos. "Game of Thrones" production designer Deborah Riley was nominated in the category of One-hour Period or Fantasy Single-Camera Series. However, the award went to Nathan Crowley for his work on "Pilot" from "Westworld," according to Art Directors Guild press release.

Riley has been associated with "Game of Thrones" since the start of Season 4. This simply implies that she has designed for big scenes like Joffrey's wedding, the Massacre at Hardhome, and the Battle of the Bastard.

During Art Directors Guild 21st Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, Riley was nominated for her work on "Blood of My Blood," "The Broken Man," and "No One." The apparent snub came across as a shock for the show's fans who were expecting her to win the trophy owing to her remarkable work in season 6 that included designing new locations like Horn Hill, the siege at Riverrun and the Riverlands community.

Riley had previously won Excellence in Production Design Awards for her work on Season 5 for "High Sparrow," "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken," and "Hardhome" as well as for Season 4 for "The Laws of Gods and Men" and "The Mountain and the Viper". Before that, Riley's predecessor Gemma Jackson won awards for her work on Season 3 for "Valar Dohaeris" and for Season 2 for "The Ghost of Harrenhal."

The only other time when "Game of Thrones" did not win this award was after Season 1, when Jackson was nominated for her work on "A Golden Crown." It will be interesting to see how things shake down after season 7, filming of which is already wrapping up for certain actors.

The latest one of the lead cast members to wrap filming is Emilia Clarke. The actress, who famously plays Daenerys Targaryen, recently took to Instagram to tease that her work with the show's upcoming season is over.

Elsewhere, Clarke took the center-stage at the pre-BAFTA party as she looked virtually unrecognizable with a blunt fringe cut as she rocked a metallic biker jacket. The stunning actress matched her gold cropped jacket with a semi-sheer knitted maxi dress, Daily Mail reported. Watch the final scenes of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 in the video below:
