LineageOS, the Android-centric custom ROM project announced in 2016 that succeeded the CyanogenMod, has added a fresh set of devices that will carry the latest LineageOS support.

A new set of devices is released by LineageOS as the latest iteration for its update, which carries the build number 14.1. As the reincarnated version of CyanogenMod, the new LineageOS update may continue the last update made by CyanogenMod, which was 14.0 or Android 7.0.

According to Android Headlines, the handful of devices that will be available for the LineageOS includes the OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, ZTE Axon 7, LG G3 (on Sprint), Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and 9.7, and the HTC One M7 (GSM and Verizon models).

The biggest new addition is for the OnePlus 3T and the older OnePlus 3. The ZTE Axon 7 could now be offered with the custom ROM, after getting its own official update to Nougat recently.

The HTC One M7, in both unlocked and Verizon versions, and the Sprint version of the LG G3 can be counted on the older devices receiving the LineageOS update. The 2016 versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets, specifically the 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch models, are also added in the roster.

For the owners of the mentioned devices, the latest LineageOS update can be viewed on their download page, Android Authority reported. Ranking top of the most downloaded custom ROM is the OnePlus One (identified by the name "bacon"), which has over 35,000 downloads recorded.

While downloading the LineageOS update, users should ensure that their smartphone is rooted and has already downloaded the proper Gapps package. During the LineageOS custom ROM, the Android Pay will not be operational as it exclusively works on stock operating systems that are unrooted.

More devices are expected to be added on the roster that will be eligible to the LineageOS custom ROM. The team may also expand the custom ROM for more further features.

On a Dec. 23 blog post last year, Cyanogen Inc.'s representative posted on the company's blog a short notice, telling customers of the popular custom version of Android that it will be discontinuing its operations on nightly builds. The Cyanogen's demise opened the doors for the next open-source initiative tagged as Lineage OS.
