Mobile phone enthusiasts expect the Samsung Galaxy J5 launch to happen at Samsung's press event at the 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month, and it looks like it really is going to happen. The South Korean tech company is reportedly set to debut its new lineup of smartphones at the event, including the Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5.

Recently, the Galaxy J5 (2017) has received its Wi-Fi certification, which could mean that the launch of the new smartphone is indeed drawing closer, according to Android HeadlinesThis smartphone is the successor of the 2016 edition of the phone and is one of the most highly anticipated smartphones in the lineup.

Details about the new phone remain scarce, but the Wi-Fi certification reveals that the handset will be pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Since its predecessor featured a 5.2-inch super AMOLED display screen, consumers are now hoping that the 2017 edition will come with the same display screen as well. Compared with the 2016 variant, however, the Galaxy J5 that will be unveiled soon is expected to come with greater RAM capacity and a better processor.

Rumor has it that Samsung will unveil a trio of handsets from its Galaxy J series at the upcoming MCW, which means that the 2017 variant of Galaxy J5 may be unveiled with the Galaxy J7 and J3.  Samsung officially confirmed J7 and J5 sometime in April and June 2016, respectively.

Since Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J3 leaks were already out in the past, it is possible that J5 will also be out soon, according to DigitAs of now, the only thing that is confirmed is that it is already in the works and carries the model number SM-J530FM.

Samsung is set to hold its press event at the MCW on Feb. 26. During the event, the company is also expected to debut the Galaxy Tab S3 alongside the Samsung Galaxy J5 launch.
