There is one NBA trade rumor that could unite arguably the two best big men in the league today.

A frontline of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins would be fearsome, to say the least and that is why it would be virtually impossible to pull off. Except that it could.

There are confirmed talks between the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings about trading their franchise center and have him join the Unibrow. The source for this NBA trade rumor is no less than Adrian Wojnaorwski of The Vertical.

The details of the supposed trade was discussed by Kristian Winfield of SB Nation. The deal would send Buddy Hield to the Sacramento Kings along with first round picks. That's it. This was according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.

If that's all they're getting for Cousins, it seems like the value has really dropped. Between this rumor and the allegation from Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report that the Orlando Magic actually refused to surrender Nic Vucevic and Evan Fournier for Boogie, it seems like no one seems interested in Cousins.

Winfield mentioned: The return for Cousins here just isn't very high. Hield is averaging 8.6 points per game on 36.4 percent shooting from downtown and has shown flashes of potentially becoming a dynamic perimeter scorer as his career progresses.

However, he also noted that "Cousins is an all-world offensive talent whose mere presence impacts the game on multiple fronts." Adding Cousins to the Pelicans and only losing Hield will definitely propel them to the playoffs. The Pelicans are just 2.5 games behind the current eighth seed (Denver Nuggets).

If the Pelicans reach the playoffs, the draft pick they're sending back will lose its value. That would be woefully low return for losing the best center in the game.

There is little probability that this trade takes place. This offer is easy for other teams like the Boston Celtics or Denver Nuggets to match. If nobody really wants to bid for Cousins, then the Sacramento Kings, despite their reported indecision, may just as well keep him.
