The recently-released "Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony" game will be launched in September for the PS4 and PS Vita. It will be launched in North America by NIS America, a publisher and localizer of Japanese games.
In a Twitch Video of the press release event of NIS America as cited by Kotaku, the North American publisher reveals that the newest "Danganronpa" game will be released on Sept. 26. Also, the company revealed that they will bring "Ys VIII" to the United States in the fall while confirming that "Disgaea 5 Complete" will be released for the Nintendo Switch starting May 23.
The video also featured a mascot-sized Monokuma along with "Danganronpa V3" writer Kazutaka Kodaka. The writer expressed his envy to the "Persona" franchise's sales, hoping that the release of "Danganronpa" on PS4 will bolster its sales and fuel the entire series at the same time.
According to Game Rant, Kodaka's statements about the game being in a different setting, having a new character cast and a brand new killing game could mean that players unfamiliar to the series can start playing it without problems. Another probable cause is that the new game signifies a true sequel to the originals and not just a side story like "Another Episode."
Without any substantial information revealed about the game, NIS America is still expected to be far enough in the localization process to release a full-length trailer at the upcoming E3 2017 event. Fans still have something to look forward into, as "Danganronpa 1-2 Reload" will be released on the PS4 at the end of March.
There are still a substantial number of Japanese games that never make it out of the country for some reason, but over the past years, NIS became one of the few publishers to find international audiences for these. In any case, "Disgaea," "Danganronpa," and "Ys" give the company a solid 2017 lineup for the United States and beyond.
