After trading stretch forward Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors for Terrence Ross and a first round pick, the Orlando Magic is still not done in making deals before the National Basketball Association trade deadline as they are reportedly in talks with the Detroit Pistons for spitfire point guard Reggie Jackson.

The Pistons, according to a report by ESPN, have discussed a possible trade that would ship Jackson to Orlando for a package of D.J. Augustin and Jeff Green. However, the deal is still in the balance with both teams still surveying the market after the blockbuster trade of Sacramento Kings star center DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Even though the Jackson is averaging a decent 15.2 points, 5.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game, his numbers has not really translated to the success of the Pistons. When Jackson came back from an injury, the Pistons lost 20 of their 36 games but when Jackson was out, they went 11-10.

Fortunately for the Pistons, they are still in the playoff picture by placing eighth in the Eastern Conference behind a 27-30 record. With back-up point guard Ish Smith on the floor, Detroit seems to be playing better that is why there is consideration in trading Jackson.

To make the deal work, the Pistons would have to add another player according to Fansided. Those players might either be centers Aaron Baynes or Boban Marjanovic as the Pistons currently have a frontcourt logjam with Andre Drummond being Detroit's main big man.

If the trade is finalized, the Magic would then have to deal of who will be their main point guard with Elfrid Payton being Orlando's starting guard. Jackson can clearly score and set his teammates up while Payton provides playmaking and defense with his 6'4" build. But even with Orlando pursuing the deal, they are still way out of the playoff picture at 14th place in the Eastern Conference.
