The man behind tvN's hit "Reply" series is ready to jump back into the icy waters of prison drama. Producing-director (PD) Shin Won Ho has signed on to helm an as-yet-untitled prison drama.

On Feb. 20, Monday, it was revealed that Shin is in the beginning stages of his next project. Since the PD is looking for new faces, the as-yet-untitled prison drama will most likely star rookie actors.

"We are currently casting the main characters for the drama," Soompi quoted Shin as saying before a group of local media. "We are casting regardless of popularity and name recognition. The actors will be chosen based on their acting ability and individual character."

While the upcoming drama will be set inside the prison, Shin reiterated that it will be different from the other prison dramas. Unlike the typical prison dramas, the as-yet-untitled project will follow the daily lives of the detainees, their struggles and the reasons that led them to jail.

Although not necessarily dark, Shin's newest project would not be a lighthearted one either. The new drama will be co-penned by Lee Woo Jung and Jung Go Eun.

After wrapping up the prison drama, Shin promised to come back with the fourth installment of "Reply" series. It is said that the AOA member Seolhyun, whose real name is Kim Seol Hyun, could star in the next installment.

It even intensified when actor Sung Dong Il, who starred in the past three "Reply" seasons, said he wanted the Kpop idol to be his next daughter, according to The Kpop Herald. While many are glad about it, fans did not buy the claim since no official announcement has been made yet.
