The Los Angeles Lakers could still consider trading Nick Young at the trade deadline following major changes in the team's front office.

The Lakers have made drastic changes to their front office, relieving Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak of their roles as executive and general manager, respectively. But it was just the start of altering Los Angeles' landscape, with Lakers great Magic Johnson set to take over as the team's President of Basketball Operations and Rob Pelinka as the GM.

In fact, Johnson already made his first move after assuming his new role with the franchise, dealing guard Lou Williams to the Houston Rockets for Corey Brewer and a 2017 first-round draft pick, reports Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania of The Vertical. It is unclear whether the Lakers brass would consider following up another move as the trade deadline looms, but trading Williams could set up a potential deal involving Los Angeles' remaining veterans.

According to James Herbert of CBS Sports, another player the Lakers could explore trading is Nick Young, who has experienced a rebirth of career this season under Luke Walton.

"Rejuvenated under Luke Walton, Swaggy P has shot a career-high 41.3 percent from 3-point range. That makes him an attractive trade target on a rebuilding team, which is remarkable when you consider there were reports that the Lakers might waive him last off-season," Herbert wrote.

Young has been linked to trade talks in the past, especially after a horrible campaign last season. But after showing he can strive playing for Walton, the Lakers have since kept hold of the 31-year-old shooting guard.

Young's ability to score and outside shooting should see him as potential targets for contenders looking to solidify their chances of competing well in the postseason. The Cleveland Cavaliers, OKC Thunder and Toronto Raptors could all use another shooter off the bench, although it remains to be seen whether these teams would have any interest in giving up future assets for Young.
