Aaron Carter had spoken up about allegations of a racist comment that caused the Illinois assault. He took to Twitter on Feb. 18, Saturday, and explained he did not intend the comment to be racist and that authorities are investigating the case.

The 29-year-old singer added his attacker punched him twice in the head. He replied to many tweets on the social media site but eventually said he could only explain himself so much.
"No racial slur was used by Aaron Carter," Carter's rep told Entertainment Tonight. "His response to his attacker was a pop culture slang phrase equivalent to the phrase 'Bye, Felicia,' also found in the urban dictionary."
The singer of the 2000 hits "That's How I Beat Shaq" and "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" was performing on Feb. 17, Friday, at the Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois when he was attacked. During the opening act, a Hispanic Ill State band member named Haze Carbajal was grabbing smartphones and recording videos. Carter felt distracted and had a security remove Carbajal. While Carbajal was being dragged, Carter said "Bye Felipe," which was from "Bye Felicia."
Carbajal re-entered the venue and attacked Cartel onstage. The Hispanic attacker likewise broke a speaker and a computer, TMZ reported. Carter was brought to a nearby hospital.
The singer checked out of the hospital on Feb. 18, Saturday. His supposed gigs that day and on Feb. 19, Sunday, were cancelled because of the incident. His face appeared untouched as he shared on social media.
Though Carter was sent to the emergency room because of the Illinois assault, his attacker is demanding an apology for disrespecting the Hispanics. Carbajal was offended by the "Bye Felipe" thing and was certain it was a racist comment because he and his Ill State bandmates were the only Hispanics in the show, Carter's alleged attacker told the online entertainment news site. Carbajal added he had no choice but to strike back.
