Remember the Filipina actress that singer Charlie Puth is crushing on when he held a concert in the Philippines? Well, Filipinos are clamoring for her to join the national beauty pageant to be the country's bet to the next Miss Universe competition.
After the Philippines failed to win a back-to-back at the recently concluded Miss Universe beauty pageant, Filipinos are looking for potential candidates for the next Filipina to win the crown. One of the prominent names floating around is actress Liza Soberano that got the attention of local and international celebrities - including Charlie Puth, The Chainsmokers, and The Vamps.
The 19-year-old Kapamilya actress also got the stamp of approval from master trainer to Filipina beauty queens Jonas Gaffud and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. The two agreed that Liza has what it takes to be a Miss Universe.
Gaffud even compared Liza to the dethroned 2002 Miss Universe Oxana Fedorova who is one of the most beautiful Miss Universe. Gaffud once revealed in a previous interview that with his years of experience with Miss Universe pageant, he already knows whether one possess the qualities to be a beauty queen.
In a talk show, hosts added fuel to the fire by asking whether she is considering joining beauty pageants. The hosts were also curious on what Liza thinks about joining a beauty pageant to which she shyly replied that it is not on her mind yet.
In a previous statement, Liza once said that she is grateful of the praises she received for her beauty. However, she wants to be acknowledged as an actress.
