Jeff Bass is someone who knows what it takes to be a successful rapper. Collectively known as Bass Brothers, he and his brother Matt Bass are known for their contribution to the success of "Rap God" rapper Marshall Mathers III, who is professionally known as Eminem.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Jeff explained why he thinks Eminem became the successful hip-hop artist that he is. The producer said his fellow Detroit native was willing to follow his path and his brother's path musically.

"Obviously, he wrote his lyrics, but we collaborated on a lot of that stuff too," Jeff said referring to Eminem and Mark. "I have a clear vision of what it takes to be a successful recording artist."

According to Jeff, he can see if whether or not an artist is going to go down the right path that he is going to show him or her. An artist could be good at what he or she is doing, but the artist needs to be outstanding at what he or she does, the producer added.

In 2002, Jeff produced the song "Lose Yourself" with Eminem and Luis Resto. In 2003, the song became the first rap song to have received the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Written by Eminem, "Lose Yourself" is from the soundtrack of the film "8 Mile," which was directed by the late Curtis Hanson. The film starred Eminem, Kim Bassinger, Michael Shannon, Mekhi Phifer and the late Brittany Murphy.

The supporting characters in "8 Mile" were played by Chloe Greenfield, John Singleton, Craig Chandler, Evan Jones, Eugene Byrd, Obie Trice, Omar Benson Miller and Xzibit, among others.

Also in the cast were "Orange is the New Black" Taryn Manning and "Captain America: Civil War" star Anthony Mackie, who participated in the 2017 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Feb. 17, Just Jared reported.
