While Jin has been happily married for more than two years and is now a father of two boys, his "Descendants of the Sun" co-stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are both single. This leads to speculations that the two, fondly called the Song-Song couple, are dating in real life just like their characters in the KBS2 series.

After playing Sergeant First Class Seo Dae Young, also known as Wolf, in "Descendants of the Sun," Jin played a chaebol's son named Park Gun Woo in "Night Light." The latter premiered on MBC just weeks after the birth of Jin's second son.

In 2016, Jin also appeared as himself in the Korean remake of "Entourage," which stars Lee Dong Hwi, Lee Kwang Soo, Park Jung Min, Seo Kang Joon and Cho Jin Woong. The original version of the series, which aired on HBO from 2004 to 2011, starred Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillion, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven, who is set to star in the CBS series "Wisdom of the Crowd," Variety has learned.
