Although Xiaomi skipped the Mobile World Congress this year, news on its upcoming flagship phones still surfaced online, which reveals the future release date for its Mi 6 handset and its high-end mobile chipset.

On the said report, it is said that Xiaomi will not be underclocking Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset inside the Mi 6. Upon release, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first Chinese handset that will be armed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Following the tipster's report, the Mi 6's camera department will also bring improvements owing to its 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor with 4K video recording capabilities and dual-tone LED flash. Up front, its selfie snapper is rumored to feature an 8-megapixel Sony IMX268 sensor.

Apart from the Chinese report, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is previously rumored to feature a curved display similar to Galaxy S7 Edge with a 5.15-inch dimension. In the phone's face, a physical home button can be seen below the display, housing the fingerprint sensor. It will also come in three variants: two models will carry the Snapdragon 835 chipset while the third variant will be armed with a Helio X30 chipset.

According to Indian Express, the entry Mi 6 model will sport 4GB of RAM with 32GB internal memory. Its mid-end variant will have 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB internal memory, while the high-end model with the ceramic body will offer 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal memory.

On the software front, the Mi 6 could run an Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI OS layered on top of it. The Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone will house a 3,000mAh battery and a USB Type-C port for its connectivity option.

For the pricing, the Mi 6 is suggested to start at CNY 1,999 (Rs 19,400 approximately). The high-end variant might be pegged at a price of CNY 2,500 (Rs 24,200 approximately).
