Magician and illusionist Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos, 49, who is professionally known as Criss Angel, was at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 10, Friday, for his "Mindfreak Live!" show. Some of the audience members thought he died when passed out in front of them.

Angel was trying get out of a straightjacket while hanging upside down but the stunt apparently went wrong. He passed out and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was let go after a few hours, TMZ has learned.

Only 10 minutes into the opening act, the "Mindfreak Live!" show had to be cancelled so the guests were shown the way out of the theater. Angel appeared unconscious after spinning around for two minutes.

This was not the first time this happened to Angel. He suffered a shoulder injury after performing a similar straitjacket routine above Times Square in New York in October 2013.

Before moving his base of operations to the Las Vegas Valley, Angel started his career as a magician and an illusionist in his home city New York City. On May 11, 2016, he started the "Mindfreak Live!" show, which was produced partly by Cirque although the directive rights are entirely with him.

Angel has one son with his former partner Sandra Gonzalez, 32, named Johnny Crisstopher Sarantakos, 7.  The boy was diagnosed with leukemia in 2015.

Years before becoming a father, Angel was linked to Britney Spears, 35, whose first residency show titled "Britney: Piece of Me" started in Las Vegas on Dec. 27, 2013. In 2007, the singer clarified that their relationship was just professional as he was only helping her with her MTV Video Music Awards performance.

On March 13, Monday, the "Toxic" singer went to Disney World with her sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 25, and their mother Lynne Spears. Also with them were Jamie Lynn's daughter Maddie Aldridge, 8, Britney's sons Sean Preston Federline, 11, and Jayden James Federline, 10, and Lexie Spears, 5, daughter Britney and Jamie Lynn's brother Bryan Spears, 39, Us Weekly reported.
