Developed by Bungie and published by Activision, "Destiny" was released on Sept. 9, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles. The sequel of the multiplayer first-person shooter video game will be released on Sept. 8, according to a leaked poster.
On March 23, Thursday, two images of the "Destiny 2" poster were released by Italian website Lega Network. Apparently, the images were sourced from GameStop Italy and the poster looks like a physical object at a GameStop as opposed to a seemingly photoshopped image.
As indicated by the "Destiny 2" poster, PS4 will get beta access, which is said to be set for June, before other platforms. Fans of the game can also see what looks like a Warlock class Guardian with a SUROS shotgun on the poster.
It is not common for "Destiny" characters appear without their helmets in-game and especially in promotion materials. However, there are three Guardians that have no helmets on the leaked poster of the video game's sequel.
On Feb. 9, Activision confirmed that "Destiny 2" is still on track for release in 2017 in a report accompanying its fourth quarter 2016 earnings. The video game publisher clarified that it will release a "full 'Destiny' sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise's global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth."
In the report, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg confirmed that "development is going great." As the video game publisher promised, fans can expect a great cinematic story from the sequel.
For "Destiny 2," those who reached level 20 and completed the Black Garden quest will have their characters physical appearance carry over. However, this does not include their progression, such as their powers and gear.
Veteran players have something special in the sequel, as well. Bungie plans to reward them to acknowledge their accomplishments in the original game.
