Jason Momoa is looking pretty badass as Aquaman in the latest trailer of DC's "Justice League." After wrapping up filming for "Justice League," Momoa is now in Australia to film the "Aquaman" solo movie. Fans are growing more and more excited for this film, especially as many are dubbing it as the best solo movie in the DCEU and here's why.
Aquaman is not someone you should mess around with
From the "Justice League" trailer alone, it is clear that Aquaman is not someone you should mess around with. Momoa's take on the character has given it an edgier look. It is clear that he's going to be the muscle of "Justice League," especially with Superman sitting out on the action for now. Aside from his physical strength, the King of Atlantis also commands all the seas, making him one, if not the, most powerful member of the group.
Not only is Aquaman powerful, but he's also one of the more relatable characters in the DCEU stable. "He's the only one who is both a human and he's a god. I want to seem him struggle with the fact that he has these powers and doesn't know how to handle them. He hasn't been trained," Momoa shared on his approach to the character.
The "Aquaman" cast
The "Aquaman" cast shaped up very well. Aside from Momoa, the superhero movie also stars Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson.
The "Aquaman" plot will blow everyone's mind
Screenwriter Tim Beale teased that "Aquaman" is going to "blow people's minds, not just visually [but also] the story and the scope of it is really great," Collider reported.
What's particularly interesting about "Aquaman" is that a lot of the action will take place deep into the ocean, which is something that hasn't been done in so far as superhero movies are concerned.
According to Movie Pilot, director James Wan teased that they are going to explore the deep sea which is "a scary world" with lots of horror elements into it. As a matter of fact, viewers will see the characters riding a shark or some other sea creature. Viewers are definitely going to get the whole experience of being in the vast ocean and the magical kingdom of Atlantis where "ships look like fish and fish creatures look like ships."
"Aquaman" will hit theaters in 2018.
