The U.S. first daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her company received approval from the Chinese government for three new trademarks. The company now has rights to sell Ivanka brand jewelry, bags and spa services.

The success of Ivanka Trump's company in China is largely attributed to her role as the first daughter. Investment deals were easier to close as Trump's daughter uses her political ties.

During the U.S. visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner sat beside the Chinese leader during dinner.

After the election of her father, President Donald Trump, Ivanka has gained nine new trademark deals in the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Canada and the U.S for her company.

Experts call the sales growth of Ivanka's midline clothing line insane and incredible. Her company saw a 771 percent increase in sales from Feb. 2016 to Feb. 2017.

Her flourishing business is criticized because of Ivanka's political life in a conflict of interest with her business, Ivanka Trump Marks LLC.

Richard Painter, former chief White House ethics lawyer under George W. Bush, said, "Put the business on hold and stop trying to get trademarks while you're in government."

He added, "She has to comply with the Criminal Conflict of Interest statute, which will prohibit her from participating in government matters that have a direct or predictable impact on her businesses, and this includes trade with China."

The first daughter's act of building a company is not illegal. However, she is criminally liable if she uses her White House stature to seal financial gains.

Her lawyer, Jamie Gorelick, said in a statement that Ivanka will not weigh in on business strategy, marketing issues, or the commercial terms of agreements.

"She has retained authority to direct the trustees to terminate agreements that she determines to create a conflict of interest or the appearance of one," said the lawyer.
