Brie Larson is generating a huge buzz for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as she nears her big screen debut as Carol Danvers, a.k.a Captain Marvel. Larson is joining Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and the rest of the superhero gang in "Avengers: Infinity War," and will star in her solo film thereafter. In a recent interview, Larson revealed the reason why she took on one of Hollywood's most coveted role in modern cinema.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Larson revealed that her relationship with Marvel Studios with respect to Captain Marvel has been very collaborative, saying she's given a lot of input as to how to create her character.

"They've been very open to hearing my thoughts and my take on it, which has been great. I think that's why they cast me: I have a lot of similarities to this character and they want me to bring that into the movie," the Oscar-winning actress said.

Larson said that her vision for Carol Danvers is not just a girl who's like a tough guy. "I think women are far more complicated and more interesting than just saying, 'They're like a dude, and that's what makes them tough and that's what makes them cool,'" Larson added. Instead, Larson intends to highlight the Carol Danvers' being a woman and working with women behind the scenes have been helping Larson achieved that vision.

According to ScreenRant, the filming schedule for "Captain Marvel" has already bene set for a Jan. 8, 2018 start date in Atlanta, Georgia. The movie recently found its directors. Marvel has enlisted "Mississippi Grind" directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to direct the film.

"Inside Out" screenwriter Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman are working on the script for "Captain Marvel." The movie will center on Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who's DNA is fused with alien DNA during an accident, which results in her developing superpowers that include super strength and energy projection.
