In yet another show of how important the Chinese audience is to Hollywood studios, the Warner Bros. movie “Wonder Woman” would have a simultaneous North America and China release on June 2. Similar to what happened over the weekend to “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” some of the actors and production crew of “Wonder Woman” will fly to China for the premiere.

Gal Gadot Greets Chinese Fans

China Plus reported that ahead of the event, DC released posters for the Chinese market and had actress Gal Gadot, who plays the title role, greet Chinese fans in the newly released trailer. “Hello to all my friends in China. I'm Gal Gadot. And I play Wonder Woman in the first ever live action 'Wonder Woman' movie. From the gorgeous island to WWI Europe, the film is full of action and adventure. As an Amazon warrior learns what it takes to become one of the greatest super heroes of all time. Don't miss the film on June 2 in the theater near you,” the actress said.

Gal Gadot, lead actor Chris Pine, director Patty Jenkins and three producers of the film would arrive in Shanghai next Monday to promote “Wonder Woman.”

Pre-sale of Tickets in North America

In North America, Screen Rant reported that tickets for the Warner Bros. film began to go on sale. The movie’s setting is World War I when Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, promised to bring peace back to the world. She would go with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) from Themyscira to London and to the frontlines.

Among Wonder Woman’s foes in the movie are Ares, the God of War, and Dr. Poison. Movie experts estimate “Wonder Woman” would have an opening weekend box office between $65 million and $100 million.
