FP Jones is still in police custody. Although he didn't kill Jason, he is still being investigated for his involvement in the crime. He also falsely confessed to the murder, and it appears Sheriff Keller isn't so keen in listening to Jughead's statement that his father was threatened by Clifford Blossom himself.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "Riverdale" showrunner Robert Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that he was choosing among three murders, and decided on Clifford Blossom near the second half of the season.

FP Jones, Hal Cooper and Hiram Lodge were on the list of possible murders, Sacasa revealed. These two characters They were also among viewers' bets and even the characters looked at them as potential culprits behind Jason's murder.

"When we were thinking about the show and what the show was - and the show is on some level a deconstruction of the Archie myth that everything is safe, that everyone is good, that parents protect their children, that fundamentally the world is a good place - it felt like the ultimate subversion to that," Sacasa explained. "The darkest, most taboo thing we could do, is a parent killing a child."

With Clifford dead and guilty of killing his own son, the Blossoms continue their downward spiral. Cheryl, in particular, will have an even shocking story in the season finale. She's already in the worst, darkest time of her life, and will only continue to go bad.

As for Polly, the question remains if whether she has found peace in knowing who killed Jason. She also knows now that she and Jason are relatives.

Meanwhile, Hiram Lodge will make his first appearance on the show in "Riverdale" Season 2. According to TVLine, actor Mark Consuelos is playing the role in the upcoming season.
