The 25th "James Bond" film is still stuck in development limbo with no confirmed leading man and director to take on the film. The industry is abuzz with rumors that incumbent Agent 007 Daniel Craig still hasn't confirmed his return to the franchise; however, recent reports suggest that "James Bond 25" may have found its director and a new Bond too.
A new report claims that Christopher Nolan's Syncopy Films has been chosen as the production company for "James Bond 25." According to ScreenRant, Birth.Movies.Death editor-at-large Phil Noble Jr. claims that IMDb Pro has listed Nolan's production company to work on "Bond 25." When contacted to verify the listing's authenticity, IMDb Pro reportedly said the listing was accurate.
It's no secret that Nolan has always wanted to work on a "James Bond" movie. In a past interview, Nolan said that he's loved the "Bond" movies ever since he was a kid and he would "love to do a 'Bond' film."
Having Nolan produce the hotly anticipated "Bond 25" film is not the only "Bond"-related news that's getting people talking. With Nolan presumed to be the top contender to direct the next film, many are speculating that Tom Hardy would be brought in to succeed Craig as James Bond.
Hardy is a frequent Nolan collaborator. They have worked together on "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises" and the upcoming World War II film "Dunkirk." The 39-year-old actor has also spoken about the "Bond" films before and made it very clear that he wanted to be a part of it.
"I wonder what the next instalment of ['James Bond'] would become, and I think when you mention someone like Christopher Nolan, that's a very powerful figure to bring into that world," Hardy said, as quoted by Express UK.
Interestingly, Hardy's name consistently been on the list of punters' bets to play the next James Bond. A Landbrokes spokesperson said that a lot of people have been putting their money on Hardy due to his "have-a-go heroics."
Meanwhile, Nolan and Hardy's film, "Dunkirk," hits theaters on July 21.
