In his interview with the magazine, Jonas commented on gay marriage saying that every person should have "the right to love and marry whomever he wants."

"And the more there are straight artists who defend these ideas, the more they will be admitted," Jonas added.

Jonas also told the magazine that it is not easy to "go from a phenomenon status as a teenager to a more adult career." He added that while he still loves the music he was playing with his brothers, now he wants to take risks.

Meanwhile, Jonas is one of the celebrities who recently commented on Zayn Malik's decision to leave the British boy band One Direction he was a member of for five years.

"It's always tough," Jonas told E! News at the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards press day on March 26, Thursday. "You know, there's never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what he feels is right for him and you got to stay true to yourself."

Like Malik, Jonas also used to be a member of a group before he turned into a solo artist. He and his brothers of the Jonas Brothers band went their separate artistic ways in October 2013.

At the time, Jonas told Robin Roberts of "Good Morning America," "In a nutshell, I said, 'Look, I feel like we've had some complications within the group for a long time without addressing them.'"
