A California woman and her boyfriend claimed that kidnappers entered their home in the middle of the night this week. The woman said she was held her for ransom and then released her two days later but police are skeptical.

According to the police report, at about 2 p.m. on Monday, 30-year-old Aaron Quinn called the  police to report that his girlfriend 29-year-old Denise Huskins was abducted from their San Francisco Bay area house during early dawn hours.

Quinn and his lawyer Dan Russo stated that he was awakened by a bright light in his face, after which two kidnappers bound and drugged him.The strangers then abducted Huskins from the couple's Vallejo house and demanded a ransom amount of $8,500 by Wednesday, according to The New York Times.

Russo stated that Quinn was willing to pay the amount to the kidnappers, but Huskins turned up safely on Wednesday morning in her hometown of Huntington Beach, which is about 400 miles away from where she was kidnapped. Huskins called her father and said that she was dropped off at her mother's residence from where she walked 12 blocks to her dad's apartment as there was no one present at her mother's residence.

Police revealed they found no proof of kidnapping. The delay that was made by Quinn in contacting the police makes them feel that the kidnapping is a hoax. Quinn and Huskins are very adamant stating the kidnapping was not a hoax laiming to the authorities that they are the victims, according to The Washington Post.

Quinn had to undergo a blood test to determine if he was drugged or not. The results have not been disclosed yet. In the meantime, Quinn and Huskins are free and have no criminal charges against them. They are  physical therapists by profession, met at work and began dating last year.

The police are still investigating the matter and are not available for any comments.
