After "Maleficent" and "Cinderella" successfully hitting the big screens, another Disney film back in 1998 entitled "Mulan" might be the next animated film to be recreated for a live action movie as reported by several sources.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney already bought a script from a team identified as Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin. Hynek and Martin already worked on other projects together and wrote for the Know Theatre of Cincinnati. Also, the producers of the movie "We're The Millers", Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, will be producing the live action re-make of the film.

The original version of the film "Mulan" grossed around US$304.3 million and earned nominations both in the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards, New York Daily News reported.

The 1998 animated film was produced by Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook and the story centered about this woman who disguised herself as a man in order to take her father's place as their country prepares for battle. A sequel was released back in 2005 entitled "Mulan II".

This is not the first time that Disney reproduced animated films to live action films as back in 2010, the company made a re-imagination of the movie "Alice and Wonderland" and it earned around US$1.02 billion. "Maleficent", starring Angelina Jolie, was reproduced back in May 2014 and it grossed over US$758.4 million. And the latest is "Cinderella", starring Lily James, and earned over US$336.2 million since being out in cinemas three weeks ago.

Disney is also set to make a live-action re-make of "Beauty and the Beast" and it will star Emma Watson and Dan Stevens. This re-make will be out on theatres by March of 2017. A live-action re-make of the 1941 animated film "Dumbo" is also reportedly on the works and will be made by Tim Burton.
