The Boston Beer shop has been named as the top most brewery in the USA.
According to USA Today, it has gone all the way and beat Samuel Adams which was running at the number one spot for many years now. What seems like a great coincidence here is that the beer which is produced by Boston Beer, 20 percent of its Samuel Adams beer, which they export to them.
In this list of awards, Boston Beer brands namely Twisted Tea and some of the other flavored malt beverages are not included, where as its exported brand Samuel Adams beer is. This is creating a lot of controversies.
This listing was decided and announced by the brewers Association, reports CNBC. But the beer industry is not very happy with the decision as they cannot relates as how this association has defined the term "craft brewery".
D.G. Yuengling & Son are the ones who supplant beer to Boston Beer, and naturally sit atop the list of the largest craft brewers in the world.
Craft beers have seen a huge upward trend, owing to the fact that more people are attracted towards the word "craft" when it is prefixed before beer. And since the number of beer consumers in the US is already so high, Boston Beer left no stone unturned to zap up this potential and snatch the number one spot.
The other craft breweries which made it to the top 10 are D. G. Yuengling and Son, Inc. (Pottsville.), Boston Beer (Boston), Sierra Nevada Brewing Co (Chico), along with New Belgium Brewing Co. (Fort Collins) Gambrinus (Shiner), Lagunitas Brewing Co. (Petaluma), Bell's Brewery, Inc. (Galesburg.), Deschutes Brewery (Bend.), Stone Brewing Co. (Escondido) and finally Minhas Craft Brewery (Monroe).
