Google in partnership with Asus has released Chromebook Flip, the first device to offer a 360° hinge to its users that helps transform it to a laptop and tablet.
The new deviceweighing less than 2 pounds the device is encased in a metallic body promising durability to its users. Furthermore, the device though shorter than other chrome books at 10.1 inches offers HD resolution of 1366x768 pixels.
Furthermore, Google has told the PCWorld that the device would be shipped in about six to eight weeks and the intermittent time shall be used to produce the 4.2 version of Chrome OS which would completely revolutionize the touch experience. The update is all set to include offline updates, onscreen keyboard and handwriting recognition apart from the ability to flip the display of the device.
Moreover, the device has been priced at $249 and comes with a 2GHz Quad Core Rockchip 3288 Processor and would be available in the 2GB and 4GB variants this spring. Google has partnered with Rockchip to enable production of cheaper and power efficient CPU's for its Chrome Books. Rumors of Google having partnered with Haier and Hisense for the same design were in the circulation, the validity of the claims hasn't been verified yet.
Furthermore, The Inquirer reported that the device boasts of a battery life of over 10 hours. Besides, unlike the Chrome book Pixel which adorned two Trype C USB Ports and one HDMI outlet. Furthermore, the device comes with complete WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, becoming the first device in the Chromebook family to offer so many features.
However, the true reviews would be out only in the spring when the device gets shipped.
