When Intel unveiled the Compute stick during the annual CES 2015 conference, it had a positive impact among consumers because everyone could see the world of computers are shrinking.

The big desktops are now reserved for extreme productivity while a lot of people require computers on the move. It paved way for smartphones, tablets and now smart watches. The Intel Compute stick is another upgrade which can instantly convert any screen into a computer and let people work on the go.

After months since its original announcement, the company has finally launched the Compute stick. The device is now available for pre-order from major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, New Egg and other websites, according to a report by Neowin.

On the specifications front, the Intel Compute stick is powered by a Bay Trial Atom processor. It is similar to Intel Atom but has been modified so as to fit into the space and also render uncompromised power. The stick also bundles 2 GB of RAM and comes with a solid 32 GB of storage space.

The USB sized stick is strong on the connectivity front as it has a USB port, a HDMI port and an additional micro SD card reader. The pocket computer supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi and uses micro-USB for power.

Users can pre-order the device which starts at $110 that comes with a Linux operating system. The Windows 8.1 OS stick is available for $149.99. The stick will be an ideal solution for users who has to carry a computer in their pocket and use it whenever they need to, Windows Central reported.

Additional peripherals that are required to use the Compute stick is a display with HDMI port and keyboard, mouse based on individual requirements.
