"The producers want to move on with the show and continue it, Ian will be next to leave but they want to and will drag it out as long as they can," an insider revealed to the publication.

Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" can be relieved as the show will drag as long as it can. Earlier, Dobrev stated via an Instagram post that her stint is set to end.

"I've just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party. I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime," Dobrev wrote in the Instagram post.

It came as a shock to her Instagram followers and fans of the show.

"No plz when I read this I cried plz plz plz don't stop being on vampire diaries when my sister told me this I basically screamed at her and said she was lying plz don't stop vampire diaries," mmweaver04 commented on Dobrev's post.

It has to be seen if Somerhalder will really quit "The Vampire Diaries" or not. Stay tuned for more updates.
