The series of short videos were produced by Lee Clow, media arts director of global advertising network TBWA Worldwide. Clow came up with the concept of creating a conversation between nature and humans.

The short documentaries, which aim to raise awareness on environmental conservation issues, was launched at an event in Beijing.

Jiang Wenli, who voiced the role of Mother Nature, said that she wanted to participate in the campaign because of the worsening pollution and environmental problems in China, the Hollywood Reporter said.

"All over the world, especially in China, it's getting worse. When I lived in Beijing 20 years ago the environment was clean air and blue sky, and we didn't know anything about PM 2.5 (damaging microparticles)," Jiang said.

The documentary series was initially shown in the U.S. in Oct. 2014.

The U.S. documentaries were voiced by Julia Roberts as Mother Nature, Robert Redford as Redwood, Kevin Spacey as Rainforest, and Ian Somerhalder as Coral Reef.

Other Hollywood A-list stars who participated in the series include Harrison Ford as the Ocean, Lupita Nyong'o as Flower and Ed Norton as Soil.

Conservation International founder and CEO Peter Seligmann said that he had a simple concept: "humanity needs nature, nature doesn't need humanity."
