Each king-sized sheet set used approximately around 31 recycled 20 oz. plastic bottles.  W Hotel will be using over 268,000 recycled plastic bottles in all hotels beds in all its branches across North America.

The initial concept of EKOCYCLETM was from will.i.am after he was inspired to convert waste left behind at a Black Eyed Peas gig into recyclable materials and partnered with Coca-Cola, according to Atlanta Business Chronicles.

W Hotels will soon remake their bed sheets in all their hotels globally with the new EKOCYCLETM sheets. The beddings will be luxurious and eco-friendly as well. Hotel guests will have the same comfortable sleeping experience that is expected in a W Hotel rooms. The same process will be used to maintain the quality of bedding and the only difference is using recycled polyester instead of a new one.

EKOCYCLETM and W Hotels do not plan to stop with beddings. They are planning to recycle even more plastic and turned their interest into creating night stands. The "Mobile Charger and Accessory Valet" (MCAV), the USB charging gadget serves as jewelry /watch stand and an alarm clock too, the Coca-Cola Company Press Center reported.

The bedside night stand is a creation of Miniwiz, a developing engineering company from Taipei dedicated exclusively on post-consumer recycled material design applications.
